‘A Nation of Shopkeepers’ documents the impact of the economic climate upon our high streets, examininig the dialogue between the shops and their surroundings.
Over the past few years it has become evident that the face of the British high street is changing. More and more shops are closing down on a daily basis and as a result our town centres are increasingly at risk of becoming ghost towns. Independent shops are opened as a dream but as the shutters come down these dreams are shattered. The reality is, the traditional independant British shopkeeper can no longer compete with corporate giants when faced with soaring rates and plummeting profit margins.

“Zwart Licht” asked Liefhebber & HOAX to create a music video for their song “Galtar”. After months of hard work the video is finally finished. The deeper themes of the song come to life by combining the basic elements of their album “No Juju” and the the technique of the animated television series “Galtar and the Golden Lance”.
JUJU: a word of West African origin used to describe the traditional West African religion. The term Juju refers to the use of objects and images to practice witchcraft. No Juju is the title of the latest album by Zwart Licht.
GALTAR and the Golden Lance: an animated television series produced in the eighties, the theme song formed the basis of the track “Galtar”.
